Pep Guardiola to make six changes, 24-year-old to start… Man City predicted line-up vs Liverpool

Pep Guardiola could make six changes to his starting XI when Manchester City take on Liverpool.

Manchester City face their great rivals in a blockbuster clash on Sunday which could determine the fate of the Premier League title race.

Liverpool currently sit on the top of the pile but Pep Guardiola’s side are just a point behind and can claim a two-point advantage with a win.

In contrast, Jurgen Klopp’s outfit would take the ascendency if they emerge victorious while a draw would open the door for Arsenal to move up to first.

It’s all to play for and Guardiola has some big selection decisions to make.

Predicted Man City team vs Liverpool

Guardiola was given the luxury of resting several key players in the midweek victory over FC Copenhagen so several changes can be expected this time around.

Ederson will remain in goal, of course, but Kyle Walker, John Stones and Nathan Ake could all return in defence, with Rico Lewis, Manuel Akanji and Josko Gvardiol making way.

Ruben Dias would stay in the starting XI, as would Rodri ahead of him, but Mateo Kovacic could make way.

With Jack Grealish likely out, Jeremy Doku a doubt and Matheus Nunes perhaps not trusted in the biggest of games, even before his gnarly finger injury, Phil Foden may well be deployed on the left.

That would see 24-year-old Julian Alvarez stay in the team in a central attacking position alongside Kevin De Bruyne.

The brilliant Belgian could replace Oscar Bobb while Bernardo Silva returns to the fold in Nunes’ stead.

Finally, Erling Haaland will lead the line one more as he looks to reach the 30-goal mark for the season.

Manchester City predicted team vs Liverpool: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Ake; Rodri; Bernardo, Alvarez, De Bruyne, Foden; Haaland.
