Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff at Manchester City are now really excited by the partnership between Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
That is according to the Daily Mail.
So, what has been written about Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland at Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Norway international and the Argentina international have impressed significantly alongside each other this season, taking their partnership to another level.
Haaland and Alvarez combined for just two goals in the 2022/23 campaign in the 29 appearances they shared a pitch.
However – in the 2023/24 campaign so far – the duo have combined to score four goals in just 11 outings, as their relationship moves up a gear.

The Daily Mail believe Guardiola’s coaching staff are highly enthused about Alvarez and Haaland’s efforts together this season, amid reports that Manchester City want to extend the Norwegian’s contract.
Manchester City should be trying to tie Julian Alvarez down as well as Erling Haaland
It is encouraging to hear that Manchester City want to reward Haaland for his stunning start to life at the Etihad Stadium with an improved contract.
However, Alvarez also deserves a fresh deal – he has arguably been Manchester City’s Player of the Season so far.
The Argentine is not only scoring goals, but he has also taken on the role of being a creator in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne.

Alvarez has impressively scored six goals – while also providing five assists – in just 12 appearances this season, notably stepping up to score vital strikes in wins against Newcastle and Red Star Belgrade.
It was the 23-year-old who scored to earn an important 1-0 win over Newcastle in the Premier League, while he then scored twice in the 3-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade in the UEFA Champions League to help Manchester City come from behind.
As much as Haaland deserves rewarding for his efforts, the South American sensation could also argue his case for a pay rise.
