Phil Foden knows all about what it takes to be a top player for Manchester City.

After emerging through the club’s academy, the midfielder has now gone on to make 271 senior appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side across all competitions.

Having scored 87 goals, delivered 53 assists and won multiple trophies along the way, the 24-year-old has shared the dressing room and the pitch with many top players at the Etihad Stadium.

In fact, Foden has now made a prediction about one particular player he knows a lot about and what he could go on to do for City this season.

Phil Foden makes Kevin De Bruyne prediction

Several City players featured in a recent video shared on the Premier League’s TikTok channel where they had to pick certain teammates that fit with specific prompts they were given.

When asked to name which teammate he thinks will score the Goal of the Season in the Premier League, Foden said this in response.

He said: “The goal of the season will be scored by Kevin De Bruyne. I’m feeling left foot, curler, top corner.”

De Bruyne knows how to score a special goal

This isn’t the first time a City player has made a prediction about what the midfielder could do in the future, as Kyle Walker recently claimed that De Bruyne could go on to become a top manager after his playing career ends.

During his time at the club, De Bruyne has found the back of the net 103 times in 386 games across all competitions.

However, none of the 69 Premier League goals he’s scored have won the Goal of the Season award, despite the Belgian scoring some top goals.

Starting all three of City’s Premier League games this season, the 33-year-old has scored one goal, although Erling Haaland’s goalscoring efforts have taken the focus away from everyone else in the top flight.

Now that Foden has predicted that De Bruyne will score the best goal in the Premier League this term and even shared exactly how he thinks he’ll do it, this highlights just how much he recognises the Belgian’s ability and what he’s capable of producing on the pitch.
