It’s official – Phil Foden has signed a new contract at Manchester City.
The 26-year-old has agreed fresh terms with the club, meaning he is now committed until 2030.
Phil Foden had a tough season in 2025/26, and was often left out of the starting XI by Pep Guardiola, especially in the second half of the campaign.

He signs until 2030!
But the club have moved to back him, removing any potential for him to leave the club this summer.
There were some very tentative links to the likes of AC Milan, but Foden is here to stay for the foreseeable, and he must now repay the faith shown in him and get back to his best.
Rayan Cherki reacts as Phil Foden signs new Man City contract
In the last hour or so, Foden has taken to social media to acknowledge his new contract.
He wrote: “No place I’d rather be 🏡 So happy I’ve signed a contract extension with my club. Determined to achieve even more together 🩵”
Among those to comment was his City teammate, and positional rival Rayan Cherki.
The Frenchman wrote: “CRAZY.”
Foden vs Cherki will be very interesting to watch in 2026/27.
Cherki has made an immediate impact at City, offering huge levels of output and creativity that we previously saw from Foden.
They are similar players, being fairly diminutive, left-footed and technically gifted. They also both play centrally and from the right.
Clearly, there is faith in Foden from new manager Enzo Maresca, and every City fan would love nothing more than to see the academy graduate recapture the form he showed a couple of seasons ago.
Foden is a previous winner of the PFA Player of the Season award and FWA award. He’s also won PFA Young Player twice.
He has had so much success in his career so far, but the last couple of years have been tricky for him.
Perhaps that was inevitable given the incredibly high standards at City and the fact that top talent is constantly coming into the club.

But Foden deserves the backing of the fans.
He is simply too talented and hardworking not to get back to his previous heights.
Maresca’s work with Cole Palmer at Chelsea should help Foden get back on the right path, and hopefully, the security of this new deal and the show of faith by the club will lead to a new explosion from the academy graduate.
