Ever since Phil Foden has played Champions League football for Manchester City, he has been a class apart.

Foden has provided goals and assists against the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the knockout stages already at the age of 24.

Foden has surpassed Bukayo Saka (nine) in terms of his goal involvements (10) in the Champions League since last season while being on par with Vinicius Jr. (10) since last season as well.

The Manchester City midfielder seems to thrive in Europe’s elite competition.

Considering how prestigious the Champions League is, it could take players a while to feel like they belong at arguably the highest stage of football.

But the £225,000-a-week man seemingly took to the competition from day one.

How Foden has overtaken Hazard in the Champions League

In Manchester City’s latest 4-0 win against Slovan Bratislava, Foden was at the front of centre of his boyhood club’s victory.

The 24-year-old scored and assisted during the contest and as per Manchester City’s official website, he was selected as the Man of the Match.

The Stockport-born attacker will be hoping to build on his latest exploits and replicate such brilliant displays in the Premier League as well.

The Englishman could be in line to start against Fulham.

City’s upcoming clash will be their last one before the international break begins.

The decorated technician will be meaning to return to playing for England in high spirits.

After setting up James McAtee’s cracking strike, Foden now has more assists (13) in the Champions League than Eden Hazard (12) — as per UEFA’s official website.

Foden vs Hazard stat reveals how impactful Man City star is in Europe

Hazard played in the Champions League for both Chelsea and Real Madrid.

The Belgian’s spell in the Spanish capital was marred by injuries and as a result, he was constantly unavailable for them in Europe and as a whole.

But Hazard spent seven years at Chelsea, out of which his former club failed to play in Europe’s elite competition for two seasons.

Yet, Foden has more assists than him, which indicates how impactful he has been in the Champions League.

The Manchester City attacker has plenty of time in his career to surpass more such all-time greats in the competition.

With Cristiano Ronaldo being at the top of the Champions League’s assist charts with 42, Foden could have a chance to surpass him one day if he continues to create chances for his teammates.
