Manchester City are now planning another move to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham.
That is according to Rudy Galetti.
So, what is the situation involving Manchester City and Lucas Paqueta? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to Sky Sports – Manchester City actually agreed an £80m deal to sign the Brazil international back in August.
However, the move collapsed after Paqueta found himself involved in an FA betting investigation.
The 26-year-old himself seemed keen to keep himself in Manchester City’s thoughts after that deal fell through, greeting Pep Guardiola and his staff before the Citizens won 3-1 at the London Stadium in September.

Now – however – it seems Manchester City are more relaxed about that betting situation than they previously were, as Galetti believes another move for the West Ham No.10 is coming.
The respected journalist adds that Tottenham and Newcastle are closely monitoring Kalvin Phillips ahead of a possible January move, so it could be one in, one out for Guardiola’s midfield department this winter.
Do Manchester City still need Lucas Paqueta?
After the £80m move for Paqueta collapsed, Manchester City went to Wolves and spent £53m to sign Matheus Nunes, who operates in a similar position to the South American.
The Portugal international himself is struggling for minutes behind the likes of Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, Julian Alvarez and Mateo Kovacic.
Therefore, does Guardiola actually have any need for another No.10 in Paqueta?

In our view, no – especially as Kevin De Bruyne is expected to be fit by the end of January.
Nevertheless, Guardiola and Txiki Begiristain certainly seem to be huge admirers of Paqueta, and if the plan is to mould him into something closer to a holding midfielder amid doubts over Phillips, then a move could materialise.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen.
