Manchester City prospect Tomas Galvez has now received praise from Pyry Soiri for his performance as Finland defeated San Marino.

The Finland international made the comments when speaking to Helsingin Sanomat.

So, what was said about Manchester City gem Tomas Galvez? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, the 18-year-old was born in London, but is able to represent Finland thanks to his mother.

Despite never making a senior appearance for Manchester City, Galvez was handed a call-up to the Finland national team following his standout efforts in the City Football Academy.

Hilariously, the teenager did not even realise he had been called into the senior squad at first, instead assuming it was a call-up to the Under-21 side.

Now – however – Galvez has truly settled in.

The left-back assisted the aforementioned Soiri to help Finland secure a 2-1 win over San Marino in UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying, with the 29-year-old praising the youngster afterwards.

He said: “I’ve talked a lot with Tomas and I’ve tried to help him as much as I can. I think he has joined the group well, and today he played well. Yesterday in training there was a similar situation where I gave him the ball at the back post, and today he gave me the ball.”

It must have been a shock to the system for Galvez to jump straight into senior international football without ever making a first-team appearance at club level.

Nevertheless, the teenager has taken his opportunity with both hands, and is already winning over his teammates within the Finland camp, which is great to see.

Manchester City must find a loan move for Tomas Galvez

Galvez is clearly talented, or else Finland would not have noticed him in the City Football Academy.

However, academy football can only take a young talent so far.

Therefore, Manchester City must find a senior loan move for Galvez, in order for the youngster to push himself in professional football at club level.

Hopefully, the treble winners can do just that, and help the London-born Finland international develop his skills further.
