Joe Cole left stunned by Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez

The Argentine sensation has been a revelation since joining Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring an impressive 17 goals in all competitions in limited minutes.

The fact that Sergio Aguero came out and said that he would start his fellow countryman in almost every game speaks volumes of his impact so far.

Joe Cole has now lauded Julian Alvarez, putting him right up there amongst the best of the best.

“You’ve got the most prolific young striker in the world in [Erling Haaland] and probably the second best young striker in the world on the bench in Alvarez.”

Julian Alvarez would start for every Premier League team barring two

Apart from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, who have Erling Haaland and Harry Kane lead the line for their sides respectively, he would start up top for every other Premier League side.

That proves Joe Cole right about the highly-rated striker, as he has looked the part ever since he stepped foot on to the Etihad Stadium.

The 23-year-old’s impact was for all to see at the biggest stage of them all at the World Cup, as he took Lautaro Martinez’s place and played a huge role in his country going all the way.

Credit must go to City’s scouting department for spotting a gem like Alvarez at River Plate in the first place.

Manchester City have well and truly signed a potential superstar in Julian Alvarez, who could dominate the game for years to come.
