Jan Aage Fjortoft backs Erling Haaland to score 45 goals this season
On the subject of Erling Haaland and how he will be approaching the upcoming season with City following the pre-season period, Jan Aage Fjortoft had this to say about the striker in a recent video shared on the ESPN FC YouTube channel.
He said: “I think that Erling Haaland will start off brilliantly. He’s always using his pre-season, he’s always using his time to get himself fit and I think he will be brilliant at the start of the season.
“He will be fresh and he will be scoring 45 goals next season as well.
“Interesting that he’s compared with himself and I think that fits him well because that’s what he’s done all his career.
“I mean he’s still a young lad but he’s still very mature in terms of how he prepares for a season, how he prepares for training and so on and he’s unbelievably hungry for goals.”
Haaland could be a key figure for City again
In his second season at the Manchester club, Haaland, found the back of the net 27 times in 31 Premier League games, winning his second Golden Boot.
At the end of the last campaign, West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus named the Norway international as one of the best players he’s come up against.
Having spent a few weeks out injured, the 24-year-old will undoubtedly be hoping that he will be able to get through the next campaign injury-free and score as many goals as he can to help his side potentially win a fifth consecutive league title.
