Manchester City are gearing up to take on another season where they’ll be looking to win more silverware.

Having won a fourth consecutive Premier League trophy at the end of their previous campaign, Pep Guardiola’s side are now just a few days away from starting their next journey to potentially win another title.

With a handful of players making moves in and out of the Etihad Stadium during the current summer transfer window, one particular figure, who will be looking to make an impact on the team during the upcoming season, has been the topic of conversation recently.

Pundit shares what Man City fans can expect from Savinho

Appearing in a recent episode of Transfer Talk, pundit and La Liga expert Terry Gibson had this to say when asked about Savinho including what he could offer City on the pitch.

He said: “They can look forward to him a lot, to be honest, because he was a surprise again last season.

“20 years old, joined Girona on loan from Troyes via the Manchester City group and he was sensational in a season where the team in general were and he was a huge part of the team.

“He plays down both lengths, he’s a left-footed wide player, he’s got pace, he’s got skill, works really hard, fantastic quality.

“Could he play in a slightly more central position where Julian Alvarez played? I think it’s possible.

“His strength is running at defenders and the quality of his crossing and he was a huge reason why Girona were remarkably successful last season.

“It was a dream season for Girona who went into the season possibly like most people thinking survival, mid-table. And then they got to a fantastic start, no one believed they could keep it going and they did.

“They got all the way through to the end and finished in third position, Champions League football.

“He’s a huge loss for Girona and a fantastic addition for Manchester City, he really is a sensational football player.

“I don’t think he could be a centre-forward. I think he could play as a second striker because of the balance and ability he has on the ball in terms of dribbling. His work rate is really good as well.

“I predominantly see him as a wide player. So that’s where he’ll be competing for a place. He’s 20 years of age. He’s obviously one for the future as well.

“But I expect him to, if he stays, I mean, we still got time before the window closes, that, you know, Girona would love to have him back on loan. I don’t think that’s going to happen.

“But if he stays at Manchester City and he gets the playing time, I think that it’s going to be a real nice surprise for the Manchester City fans. He’s a super footballer, he really is.

“Talent-wise, he has the ability to play for Manchester City. It’s just whether he does get the opportunity to do so.”

Savinho could be a very exciting player for City

Having scored nine goals and delivered 10 assists in 37 La Liga games with Girona last season, this shows how much of an attacking threat Savinho has in him.

With Guardiola also describing the winger as being “devastating” in one-on-one situations, this further highlights what can be expected from him on the pitch this season.

Now that Gibson has shed some light on how impressive Savinho is as an attacking threat, we feel that the City supporters should be very excited about the Brazilian and what he could produce in his debut season at the club.
