Pundit John Giles has shared his praise for Jack Grealish and the way he has improved at Manchester City.

The Englishman has made 47 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side this season across all competitions, scoring five goals and delivering 11 assists.

With the 27-year-old on the verge of potentially winning his second Premier League title with the Citizens, he has found himself on the end of some praise by one pundit in particular, who has highlighted how Grealish has improved on the pitch.

Speaking on a recent edition of The Stand with Eamon Dunphy, Giles said this on the topic of Grealish and his time at City.

He said: “Grealish is coming on. He didn’t start very well at City.

“He was a midfield player really at [Aston] Villa. He’s playing left-wing and he’s playing better now because the players around him are very good.”

In terms of which areas of his game the England international has improved on from his previous league campaign, Grealish has made more passes into the penalty area (48 vs 43), more carries into the final third of the pitch (83 vs 74) and even has a higher combined total of tackles and interceptions (32 vs 26).

This shows that the winger is doing even more for the team in an attacking and defensive sense than he was last term.

It also backs up why Giles thinks the former Villa star has improved since he joined City and also shows why Guardiola has given him such a significant amount of game time this season.

Moving forward, if the Englishman can continue his evolution at the Manchester club and pick up as many trophies as possible, he’ll undoubtedly be seen as a major success story at City and a very important figure for them.
