Don Hutchison has said that Gabriel Jesus is not a guaranteed goalscorer like Erling Haaland.
The pundit was discussing why he thinks Arsenal will not win the Premier League on ESPN FC and that is due to the Brazilian’s inadequacies as a striker, and the same applies to Eddie Nketiah, in his opinion.
Last season, Erling Haaland scored a record-breaking 36 goals in the league and has bagged 14 this campaign.
Gabriel Jesus, on the other hand, registered 11 in the 2022/2023 season while scoring only two goals this season, albeit having played a significantly lesser number of games due to injuries.

Last season, when the Gunners were leading in the title race, many questioned whether Manchester City made the right decision to sell Jesus to them.
The £45 million (Sky Sports) man was flying at the Emirates Stadium, while the Sky Blues seemed to be figuring out how to adapt to a player like Haaland for most of the campaign.
But now, Don Hutchison believes Gabriel Jesus is not as prolific in front of goal as Erling Haaland, which he claims will cost Arsenal in their hopes to win the league.
“I don’t see Arsenal [winning the Premier League], not with any confidence because they’re playing well but I just think something’s short, I don’t think they’ve got the goals in the No.9. I think [Gabriel] Jesus works incredibly hard but he’s not [Erling] Haaland, he’s not going to get 20-odd goals”, he said on ESPN FC.
“[Eddie] Nketiah, I like, he works hard, I think he’s underrated but I think they’re missing that X-factor.”

While it is hard to disagree with Don Hutchison about Gabriel Jesus, the unique goalscoring ability that Erling Haaland possesses gives Manchester City the edge over all their competitors for the league crown.
While the likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli can chip in with several goals and the same can be said about Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, none of these players have an eye for the back of the net quite like the Norwegian superstar.
As long as City are in touching distance of their title rivals in crunch time, they can rely on Haaland to get them over the line as ultimately, goals win games and he scores them more than most.
