Darren Bent has named two former Manchester City players in his all-time South American Premier League XI.
With AFCON and the AFC Asian Cup underway, one pundit has put together an all-time Premier League XI that only contains players who have featured in the top flight and are originally from South American countries.
This then led to two former City players getting included in this particular XI.
Bent names two players from Man City in South American XI

Speaking on talkSPORT, Bent named Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero in his XI, which also included other South American players such as Alisson Becker, Thiago Silva and Luis Suarez among others.
Focusing on Aguero, he ended up scoring 184 goals in 275 Premier League appearances throughout his 10-year spell at the Manchester club.
The striker ended his debut Premier League campaign by scoring the dramatic injury-time winner that led to City winning the title by beating Queens Park Rangers 3-2 on the final day of the 2011/12 season.
In fact, on the tenth anniversary of his goal against QPR, the club unveiled a statue in his honour at the Etihad Stadium.
As for Fernandinho, he made 264 top-flight appearances in nine years at City, captaining them to the Premier League title at the end of the 2021/22 season.
Back in December 2021, Pep Guardiola said this about the Brazilian and what he offered the team on and off the pitch.
He said: “He is an incredible captain that we have because he didn’t play much this season because Rodri has been exceptional. He always tries to help the team, the guys who don’t play, myself, the staff. He is so generous. He is just thinking about what the team need and what is best for the team.
“This is a real captain, when they always think about what is best for the team and the club. That is why he is so generous when he doesn’t play and when he plays, he always plays good.”
With both players having spent such a significant amount of time at the club and winning so much silverware, it’s easy to see why Bent has included both of them in his all-time South American Premier League XI.
