Anton Ferdinand has chimed in on whether Manchester City or Arsenal have the better player in arguably the most important position on the pitch this season.
The pundit has claimed that even if Kyle Walker has not been performing at his highest possible standard this season, he remains a superior right-back to Ben White.
Similarly, Anton Ferdinand opted for Phil Foden over Martin Odegaard as the better number 10, based on the former’s breathtaking showings this campaign.
Anton Ferdinand shares who he thinks has been better this season: Ederson or David Raya
A majority of City’s players would certainly pip Arsenal’s in such discussions, considering Mikel Arteta and Co. have only been in a Premier League title fight since last season.
In fact, ever since Manchester City have become one of the most dominant sides in England, the Gunners have regressed and as a result, would perhaps come second best in such discussions.
When quizzed about whether Ederson or David Raya has had a better season on FIVE’s official YouTube channel, Anton Ferdinand instantly replied, “Ederson.”

It seems like the former West Ham United defender thought it was a no-content between the two goalkeepers.
Ederson is miles better than his Arsenal counterpart
In our view, the quickness with which Anton Ferdinand crowned Ederson as the superior goalkeeper to David Raya was warranted.
While Raya has gone on to impress for the North London side, in the initial months of his time at the Emirates Stadium, his displays, both as a shotstopper as well as in terms of his distribution were shaky.
Ederson, on the other hand, continues to perform at an elite standard and right from when he joined the Sky Blues in 2017, he looked world-class straight from the off.
Especially in terms of both goalkeepers’ distribution, the former Benfica number one is on another stratosphere, as his long and short passing is far more accurate while he breaks the lines much better than Raya does.
The Spaniard’s line-breaking passing still needs improvement, as does his ability to be a playmaker from in between the sticks like Ederson and even as a ‘sweeper-keeper, he is not as proactive as well as dominant in this particular facet as the latter.
