Pundit Stephen Kelly has claimed that Manchester City would be the only club that would be able to guarantee trophies for Harry Kane.
With Tottenham Hotspur finishing eighth in their latest Premier League campaign, Kane, who is set to enter the final year of his contract at the club, has been linked with a move away from north London.
This has since led to one pundit sharing his thoughts on the matter and what the Englishman’s next step could be.
Pundit says only City could guarantee trophies for Kane
Speaking on a recent episode of the Football Daily podcast, Kelly had this to say about Kane’s future and his hopes of winning a trophy.
He said: “The only guarantee of a team winning a trophy in the next few seasons is pretty much Man City.
“So you go there and you’re not guaranteed something and that’s what he’s doing, he’s leaving Tottenham to guarantee a trophy.
“If that’s not going to happen then the pull may be to stay at Tottenham.”

The 29-year-old almost made a £100m move to the Etihad Stadium back in the 2021 summer transfer window having shared his ambitions of winning trophies and mentioning how much he’d like to play with Kevin De Bruyne.
However, with the Citizens signing Erling Haaland, who scored 36 goals in 35 Premier League games this season, last summer, it seems likely that the club have forgotten all about the possibility of signing Kane.
Moving forward, if City’s domestic dominance ends up having an impact on potentially seeing the Spurs striker stay with his current side, this will surely be great news for everyone at the north London club.
From the Manchester club’s perspective, Haaland’s presence and clear ability of scoring goals on a regular basis will surely have helped them forget about their previous attempts of luring Kane to the Etihad.
