Manchester City loanee Tommy Doyle has now received praise after helping Wolves record a 2-0 win over West Brom in the FA Cup.
It was Andy Thompson and Dave Edwards who made the comments when speaking to Matchday Live Extra.
So, what was said about Manchester City loanee Tommy Doyle? Let’s take a look…
Tommy Doyle praised after 2-0 win
Well, the 22-year-old played the entire 90 minutes as Wolves reached the FA Cup fifth round.
Doyle – who is currently on a season long loan at Molineux from Manchester City – delivered a mature performance in a very frantic Black Country derby affair, which was briefly suspended due to fan trouble in the stands.
As WhoScored shows, the England U21 international registered 87 touches at the Hawthorns – more than any other player – while his 74 passes were also more than anyone else managed to make.
Doyle recorded a pass success rate of 83.8% from those 74 passes.
The Manchester-born playmaker almost notched a remarkable assist for Matheus Cunha midway through the second half, after he channeled his inner Kevin De Bruyne to swing a gorgeous cross to the back post.

After watching Doyle’s performance, Thompson said: “He’s a quality player.”
Edwards added: “He’s got some real character, he’s got tenacity, he loves that side of the game. Even with the style of his running, he wants to get into tackles and disrupt players. We know his quality on the ball, some of his passing was excellent.”
Tommy Doyle may have already played his final game for Manchester City
Unfortunately, this does not appear to be one of those loan moves where the player in question eventually returns to his parent club and thrives.

As detailed by Simon Stone of the BBC, Wolves hold a €5m (£4m) option to turn Doyle’s loan into a permanent move this summer, something the Old Gold are highly likely to do.
Therefore, the City Football Academy graduate may have already played his final game for Manchester City.
