Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb delivered a star performance for Norway in his latest international appearance.
After making his senior debut for Norway last month in one of their qualifying matches for Euro 2024, which ended with a 4-0 win over Cyprus, the 20-year-old then made his first start for his country just a few days later in their 1-0 defeat to Spain.
Now though, the youngster found himself in Norway’s starting XI once again for their recent international friendly match against the Faroe Islands, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Scandinavian side.
During the game, Bobb managed to show how much of a capable attacking figure he can be.
Bobb dazzles for Norway
With just three minutes on the clock, the City youngster provided the assist for Jorgen Strand Larsen’s opening goal of the game, before then going on to double his side’s lead by scoring his first senior international goal.
Across the 67 minutes he was on the pitch for, Bobb had 52 touches of the ball in total and was able to successfully complete 34 of the 38 passes he attempted, leaving him with a passing accuracy percentage of 89%.
In addition to making one key pass that led to the early goal, the winger had two shots on target in total and was able to complete two of the four dribbles he attempted.
He also drew two fouls from his opponents on the day, highlighting how much of a tricky player he can be to face off against.
This performance ultimately earned the attacker an overall match rating of 8.7/10 from SofaScore, making him the highest-rated player on the day.
Even though it was only a friendly game, this display from Bobb should delight Pep Guardiola and prove to the City manager that the Norwegian can be a useful attacking option for his side.
Moving forward, with the 20-year-old only making seven appearances for his club in all competitions so far this season, it’ll be interesting to see how much game time Guardiola gives him throughout the remainder of the campaign and whether this performance for Norway has given him a better chance of being more prominent in the team.
