Stefan Ortega has now revealed what Ederson did when he first arrived at Manchester City.
The German made the comments when speaking on Manchester City’s In Conversation With series.
So, what did Stefan Ortega say about Ederson? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Manchester City No.18 revealed that his fellow glovesman sent him a message on Instagram when he arrived on a free transfer from Arminia Bielefeld in July 2022.
Ortega said: “He looks a bit dangerous with all the tattoos, but he is a nice guy! He was also the first person when I signed here to send me a message on Instagram. Really big surprise how the people are here. They are so friendly.”

The 30-year-old enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium, helping Manchester City win a historic treble after collecting the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.
Ortega made 14 appearances in all competitions as he jostled with Ederson for the No.1 shirt, including a starting role in the 2-1 FA Cup final win over Manchester United.
Stefan Ortega boasts stunning record for Manchester City
Some might argue that Ederson and Ortega have an easy job playing behind a treble winning side who can keep possession with ease.
However, the goalkeeping duo still need to deliver when the opposition invariably get a chance or two.
The £34.7m Ederson has obviously shone, but Ortega’s record with limited game time is hugely impressive.

The Hofgeismar-born glovesman has kept nine clean sheets in just 16 appearances for Manchester City, only conceding nine goals in that space of time while also avoiding any red cards.
Of course, Ederson is the main man in between the sticks under Pep Guardiola, but Ortega is certainly making a claim for the status of best backup goalkeeper in Europe.
