Micah Richards has hailed Manchester City winger Jack Grealish for his performance against Young Boys in the Champions League.
Wednesday night saw Pep Guardiola’s side pick up their latest victory in the group stage of the Champions League with a 3-1 win over Young Boys in Switzerland thanks to goals from Erling Haaland and Manuel Akanji.
Despite not getting his name on the scoresheet, one City figure has since found himself on the end of some hefty praise from one pundit and former City player.
Richards hails Grealish after Young Boys performance

Speaking in a recent edition of The Rest Is Football, Richards had this to say about Grealish and his efforts in midweek.
He said: “There’s been this whole talk about Grealish and [Jeremy] Doku. Doku has come into the squad and done really well, been a little bit more direct than Grealish. Doku actually played on the right, Grealish started on the left and Grealish had a really good game.”
With the full 90 minutes under his belt, the Englishman managed to show how much of a dangerous attacking threat he is, even though he didn’t score or provide an assist on the night.
Specifically, with 69 touches of the ball in total, Grealish made three key passes, created two big chances, successfully completed all three dribbles he attempted and had two shots on target.
Then from a defensive point of view, the winger was able to win five of the seven duels he was involved in, highlighting how useful he can be off the ball as well as on it.
This display ultimately earned the 28-year-old an overall match rating of 8/10 from SofaScore, making him the joint second-highest-rated City player alongside the two goalscorers.
With all of that taken into account, it’s clear that the England international put in a solid performance in midweek and was very much deserving of the praise Richards has shared for him.
Moving forward, it will be interesting to see if Guardiola decides to keep Grealish in the starting XI for this weekend’s Premier League showdown against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
