Phil Foden has praised fellow Manchester City teammate Oscar Bobb for his efforts in the first team this season.
Having become a regular figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad this season after being promoted from the club’s youth ranks, Bobb scored his first senior goal for City in their 3-2 win over Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday.
Since then, the Norwegian has found himself on the end of some praise from one of his senior City teammates.
Foden praises Bobb

Speaking in the latest edition of the Official Man City Podcast, Foden had this to say about Bobb.
He said: “He’s similar to me with a left foot and in that he likes to get in the pockets and turn. He’s an unbelievable player. Every time he’s played for us now and come on he’s done well as well so he’s really making an impact. I’m really happy for him.”
After making 114 youth appearances for the club in which he scored 31 goals and provided 33 assists, the 20-year-old is now getting his first real taste of senior football.
Featuring in nine games across all competitions this season, Bobb has come off the bench on seven occasions.
Looking back over the win against Red Star, the attacker had 54 touches of the ball in total across the 90 minutes and was able to accurately complete 41 of the 42 passes he attempted.
His overall performance earned Bobb a strong match rating of 7.6/10 from SofaScore, making him the highest-rated City player on the night.
This makes it easy to see why Foden has been so complimentary about the youngster and what he has done on the pitch this season.
Looking ahead to the rest of the campaign, it’ll be interesting to see how much more game time the Norway international gets and if he’s able to add more goals and assists to his record in the process.
