Juanma Lillo has said that Oscar Bobb is very much admired by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

During the recent summer transfer window, the Citizens saw a number of young players make moves away from the Etihad Stadium.

However, one young talent that has stayed at the Manchester club this summer has been the topic of conversation with City’s temporary man in charge.

Speaking in a recent press conference ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League match against

He said: “Oscar I’ve known him from my previous period here. A player that really stood out, it happens with other players – Cole [Palmer], [James] McAtee, many players.

“He has some very particular conditions that are valued by Pep and the club. If not he wouldn’t be here. We value it a lot. We have to let him go through the process. He has great conditions.”

After arriving at the Manchester club from Norwegian club Valerenga back in 2019, the 20-year-old has made 114 youth appearances for City across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and supplying 33 assists.

During the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, the youngster’s performance in the 5-3 victory over Yokohama F. Marinos was described as “unbelievable” by Guardiola, which could be a reason why the Spaniard is apparently a big fan of him.

Specifically, the City manager hailed the youngster’s versatility in being able to play in multiple positions.

Having now been in the senior matchday squads for three of City’s five games in all competitions this season prior to the Fulham clash, this shows that he could be getting his first taste of first-team action at some point in this campaign.

In fact, with the likes of McAtee and Palmer making late transfer moves away from the treble winners, this could make Bobb’s path towards first-team game time clearer.
