Bernardo Silva has reportedly decided he will look to leave Manchester City after the upcoming Champions League final.

The 28-year-old was linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium last summer but ultimately decided to stay with Pep Guardiola’s side.

Now though, the midfielder has once again been mentioned with an exit from the Manchester club.

Silva eyeing City exit

According to Alex Crook, in a recent report for talkSPORT, the journalist had this to say on the situation.

He said: “Bernardo Silva is preparing for Saturday’s Champions League [final] to be his last [game] in a Manchester City shirt.

“talkSPORT sources say Silva has told friends he is set to leave the Etihad this summer in search of a fresh challenge.

“The Portuguese magician was wanted by Barcelona last summer, but the Spanish giants could not raise the funds to match City’s £70m valuation.

“Barca retain an interest in Silva, as do French champions Paris Saint-Germain.”

Since joining the Citizens back in the 2017 summer transfer window in a deal worth a reported fee of £43m, the Portuguese international has made 305 appearances for the club across all competitions.

In those appearances, Silva has scored 55 goals, provided 59 assists and won numerous trophies including five Premier League titles.

This season has seen the 28-year-old feature in all but six of City’s matches, featuring in a variety of different positions, highlighting his prominence and usefulness for the team.

It also showcases how much of a blow it would be for the Citizens if they were to see the midfielder walk away from the club this summer in search of a new challenge.

Therefore, we feel that City should do all they can behind the scenes to convince Silva to stay where he is and continue his journey with the club, regardless of how Saturday’s Champions League final against Inter Milan pans out.
