Kyle Walker is reportedly weighing up his future at Manchester City this summer.

The full-back recently completed his sixth season with the Citizens since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2017 in a deal worth an overall reported fee of £50m.

Having secured the treble with Pep Guardiola’s side, the Englishman’s next step is looking rather unsure as some behind-the-scenes details have come to light.

According to a recent Twitter post from talkSPORT, Walker is contemplating his future at City and has gathered transfer interest from Sheffield United and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Since joining the Manchester club, the defender has made 254 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with six goals and 18 assists along the way.

His latest season saw the 33-year-old start 31 of the 39 games he featured in, showing how important he is for the team and why his potential departure this summer would be a blow for Guardiola and the team.

In terms of the apparent interest in Walker, bearing in mind how the defender started his career at Sheffield United, it’s understandable why they would want to bring their academy graduate back to the club as they prepare to take on another season in the Premier League.

However, a recent report from The Athletic claimed that a move back to Bramall Lane has been “mooted” and that a move abroad could well be on the cards for the 33-year-old.

Moving forward, if the right-back has his heart set on walking away from the Etihad this summer, we feel that City should respect his wishes and find a suitable solution that suits all parties, as long as they manage to bring in an effective replacement.
