Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has found himself on the transfer radar of one Premier League club ahead of the upcoming summer window.
The previous summer transfer period saw the Citizens sell three big players to two of their fellow top-flight sides, with Raheem Sterling going to Chelsea, as well as Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus going to Arsenal.
Now, with the summer transfer window set to open later this month, the Manchester club could be set to see another one of their players join a club fighting against them domestically.
Villa eyeing Laporte transfer
According to a recent report from 90 Min, Aston Villa have got Laporte, as well as Pau Torres, on their list of potential transfer targets for the summer window.

The report also adds that the centre-back could look for a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer in an effort to look for more regular game time elsewhere.
Back in the 2018 January transfer window, City shelled out a then-club-record fee of £57m to sign Laporte from Athletic Bilbao.
Since then, the Spaniard has gone on to make 179 appearances for the Premier League champions, scoring 12 goals, providing four assists and winning numerous trophies in the process.
Having only started 20 of the 24 appearances he’s made across all competitions this season, it’s understandable why the centre-back may be looking to join a club where he’d be guaranteed more game time.
However, if the Citizens were to sell Laporte this summer, we feel they would need to bring in a suitable replacement in the same window in case any of their other defensive options get injured and need cover.
Moving forward, if a suitable offer, from Villa or any other club, comes in for the defender this summer, we feel that the club should not stand in his way should he express his intentions to leave City.
