Borussia Dortmund are reportedly very interested in signing Cole Palmer from Manchester City this summer.

The winger’s future has been the topic of discussion recently as he said after Wednesday’s Super Cup victory over Sevilla that he wants to play regularly, whether that’s at City or another club.

With Pep Guardiola ruling out a loan exit for the Englishman but admitting that his future is still uncertain, a big behind-the-scenes update has emerged regarding the player and the interest in him.

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Patrick Berger had this to say on the matter.

He said: “EXCL. #BVB very interested in signing Cole Palmer from Man City. Direct talks between clubs. But he could be too expensive.”

After only being able to score one goal in 25 appearances last season, the 21-year-old has already found the net two times in three games, his latest coming in the midweek win over Sevilla, which led to the Citizens winning on penalties once the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

In his recent press conference ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United, Guardiola acknowledged the previous efforts of Palmer by calling his past performances as “extraordinary” for City, which shows how impressed the manager has been with the youngster.

Having now seen him show his talent in recent week and start to deliver goal contributions, this makes us feel that the club should not consider selling the attacker over the next couple of weeks before the transfer window closes.
