Manchester City love a good buy-back clause.
Rather than just sell players, City have taken to inserting buy-back clauses in deals to ensure they could re-sign players in the future.
Angelino had his activated in 2019, though Kelechi Iheanacho and Douglas Luiz haven’t been quite as fortunate.
City attempted to put a buy-back clause into Tosin Adarabioyo’s exit to Fulham last summer, but he rejected the idea according to The Athletic.
He didn’t want to risk being like Angelino, who was brought back to City only to be moved again six months later.
Adarabioyo may have suffered relegation with Fulham, but he has impressed in the heart of their defence, leading to an exciting new rumour for him.
The Athletic claim that Arsenal have now expressed an interest in signing Adarabioyo, meaning he could reunite with ex-City coach Mikel Arteta in North London.
Many around City always knew that Adarabioyo had real potential, but a move of this magnitude would really show it.
