Report: ‘Elegant’ £35m player would actually find it really ‘difficult’ to turn down Man City move

It has been reported that if either Manchester City or Chelsea formalise their interest in signing Michael Olise, he would find it hard to reject a transfer.

This comes from The Athletic, after Roy Hodgson admitted on Tuesday that Crystal Palace have a ‘fight on their hands’ to keep the 21-year-old.

It seems like the veteran has been proven right as Michael Olise could be tempted to join Manchester City or Chelsea after all.

Michael Olise would find it ‘extremely difficult’ to turn down Manchester City or Chelsea transfer

Branded as ‘elegant’ by former Chelsea youth coach Sean Conlon in an interview with the Guardian, the French U-21 international, who has a £35 million release clause (via Fabrizio Romano) seems like the direct replacement for Riyad Mahrez this summer.

Much like the Al-Ahli technician, the Eagles sensation too is left-footed, a natural right-winger, technically gifted, a proficient creator and a silky dribbler.

As both Manchester City and Chelsea are competing with each other to sign Michael Olise, it has been revealed that he would find it ‘extremely difficult’ to snub a move to either club if their interest formalises.

The youngster’s decision will not be swayed by knowing that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are not competing in Europe, as it aim remains to play at the highest level both domestically and internationally.

However, Michael Olise could end up saying no to either Manchester City or Chelsea, or even both if they promise not to offer him at least semi-regular football and stay at Crystal Palace instead.

Olise should consider a move to Guardiola & Co. a no-brainer

If Manchester City ramp up their interest to sign Michael Olise, just logically, why would even consider signing for Chelsea instead?

While the Blues endured the worst season in their history, the Sky Blues won the historic treble, which shows the contrast between both clubs.

To add to that, while Pochettino remains a top coach, the chance to work with Guardiola, who may be the greatest manager of all time at this point is a once-in-a-life opportunity to grow as a player.

Plus, with Chelsea’s reported plans of using Olise as a No.10, he would also much rather simply join the Premier League champions to directly replace Mahrez as their go-to right-winger in his natural position.
