Inter Milan are reportedly looking to sign Manchester City full-back, Joao Cancelo, on loan this summer.

Last month, it was reported that the Manchester club had come to the decision that they will look to move the defender out on a permanent basis this summer after seeing him join Bayern Munich on loan in January.

Now, some fresh information has emerged regarding some interest the Portuguese international has gathered.

According to a recent report from Sportmediaset (via @ManCityzens), Inter will look to secure a loan deal for Cancelo this summer and have already made contact with City about it.

City faced off against Inter in the Champions League final last month which saw Pep Guardiola’s side win the game and secure the treble, without Cancelo in the squad.

Having joined the Manchester club back in 2019 in a deal worth £60m, the 29-year-old has made 154 appearances across all competitions for them, scoring 22 goals and delivering 29 assists.

These goal contributions alone make it easy to see why the Italian club are apparently interested in bringing Cancelo back to the San Siro, as he spent a previous loan spell with Inter back in 2017.

However, even though Guardiola recently revealed that the club would have sold the defender to Manchester United in January because of how much they wanted him gone, perhaps they may not entertain the idea of another loan move for him this summer and may only consider shipping him out permanently.

This, therefore, may have to see Inter come up with a package that City would be willing to accept as long as it got him off their books once and for all.
