Ilkay Gundogan is reportedly willing to discuss a potential move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
With the 32-year-old’s contract at Manchester City set to expire at the end of the month, he has found himself being linked with the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, it was recently reported that Gundogan is on the radar of the Saudi league, with an offer said to be coming his way following the Champions League final.
With the German having led his side to a historical treble, a fresh update has emerged regarding the player’s position.
Gundogan to discuss potential Saudi move

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Rudy Galetti revealed that Gundogan “gave the green light” to speak to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sports to “explore the proposal” that was put his way.
Galetti then added that nothing has been decided about his future yet and that this week will be a “crucial” one in terms of finding out what his next step will be.

Becoming Pep Guardiola’s first signing at City back in 2016 when he arrived from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth a reported fee of £20m, the midfielder has gone on to make 304 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 60 goals and providing 40 assists in the process.
Having ended his seventh season with the Citizens as the captain that delivered his side the treble, it’d be understandable if he felt this was the perfect time to bring his time at the club to an end and try something new.
However, with Guardiola describing Gundogan as an “exceptional” player and having shared his hopes of seeing the German sign a new deal at City, we feel that unless the player has his heart set on starting a new chapter in his career, we feel the club must do all they can to get him to put pen to paper on a new contract.
