Riyad Mahrez has passed his medical at Al Alhi.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who have reported that the Manchester City winger completed his medical tests last night and will become an Al Alhi player ‘in the coming hours’.
Mahrez joined Man City for £60 million in 2018 and will now make the move to Saudi Arabia for half of his former price after agreeing a £30m deal with his new club.
The 32-year-old had already been given permission not to travel on City’s pre-season trip to Japan and South Korea and looks set to complete his departure from the Premier League champions before the weekend.

Mahrez enjoyed an illustrious five year stint at the Etihad Stadium and contributed 15 goals from 47 games as they made history by winning the Treble last season.
Pep Guardiola was a huge fan of the Algerian during his time with the club, previously labelling him ‘exceptional‘ and a ‘big game player’ during the 2021-22 season, where he bagged 20 goals in all competitions.
Mahrez will link up with former Premier League stars in Roberto Firmino, Edouard Mendy and Ezgjan Alioski at Al Alhi as they look to retain their Saudi Professional League champion status next season.
Riyad Mahrez’s move to Al Alhi is the start of a major overhaul at Man City
There are no arguments to be made about the fact that Man City were the best football club in the whole world last season and have established themselves as one of the best teams in footballing history.
After winning the Treble, fans would never have expected this to be the summer where they would actually lose some of their biggest players.
Ilkay Gundogan’s move to Barcelona on a free transfer came as no surprise, however the departures that could follow may leave Man City light ahead of the new campaign.

Bernardo Silva is wanted by both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona this summer, but Pep is determined to keep him at the club following Mahrez’s exit.
Meanwhile, Kyle Walker is very close to leaving England in the coming weeks, while Joao Cancelo, Aymeric Laporte and Kalvin Phillips have been linked with a move away.
Despite an unbelievable season, it looks like Man City are going to have to invest heavily if they lose some of the players that have been key to their stacks of silverware in recent years.
