Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca could be set to leave the club for the second time this summer.
The Italian, who is a part of Pep Guardiola’s coach staff, recently helped the club secure their fifth Premier League title in six years, the FA Cup and their first Champions League trophy.
With the treble-winning season now over, the coach has found himself in with a chance of leaving the Manchester club for a new challenge as a manager.
Maresca leading the race to become new Leicester boss
According to a recent Twitter post from talkSPORT, Maresca is now the “front-runner” to become the new manager of Leicester City.

After getting rid of Dean Smith following their relegation from the Premier League, the Midlands club are now on the lookout for a new head coach that can help them get back to the top-flight.
After winning 19 of the 28 games he overlooked for City’s U23 side between August 2020 and Man 2021, the 43-year-old took his first role as a manager for a senior club at Parma in Italy.
Things didn’t go too well for Maresca back in his home country though, as he found himself winning just four of the 14 games he had in charge there before leaving.

In July 2022, the coach returned to City and became part of Guardiola’s first-team staff, a role that Txiki Begiristain said he would “invaluable” for.
Moving forward, with an opportunity to take the helm at Leicester now apparently in front of him, it’s a big decision for Maresca to make in terms of whether he wants another crack at being the main man again, especially considering how disappointing his spell in Parma was.
However, if it’s his ambition to be a successful head coach, potentially taking Leicester back to the Premier League in a similar way that Vincent Kompany has done with Burnley, we feel, would be a great way of proving any doubters wrong about his ability to manage a team.
