Bernardo Silva is reportedly going to make a decision about his Manchester City future in the next few weeks.
Since the end of City’s recent treble-winning season, the 28-year-old has found himself being linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium.
After reports came out claiming Paris Saint-Germain see him as a suitable replacement for Lionel Messi, it was more recently reported that Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal are weighing up a significant financial offer for the Portuguese international.
With all of that being taken into consideration, some fresh behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the City star’s situation.
Silva decision could take weeks
According to a recent report from Record, Silva’s main target is to stay in Europe but is weighing up a potential move to Saudi, with a final answer on his next step potentially set to come out over the next few weeks.
The report also adds that City will try and convince the midfielder to stay with the club but will not keep hold of him if he doesn’t want to.
Having been linked with a move to Barcelona last summer before deciding to stay with Pep Guardiola’s side, rumours of Silva walking away from the club have been particularly common.
His latest season with the Citizens proved just how important the midfielder, who has been described as “magnificent” by journalist Henry Winter previously, is for the team, as there were only six games across all competitions that he didn’t feature in.
While this decision is one that Guardiola and the club would presumably prefer to have as soon as possible, there’s no doubt that their best outcome would be for Silva to once again say he wants to stay.
However, regardless of how much convincing they do, if the player wants a change of scenery, the club may have to accept his decision and make sure they get a suitable offer for him.
