Manchester City are reportedly being made aware of the current transfer situation surrounding Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.
The midfielder left City back in the previous summer transfer window to join the south coast club in a deal worth an overall fee of £14m, which also includes City having a buy-back clause worth £40m that will only be valid from next summer.
Now that a year has passed since his departure from the Manchester club, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding the club’s current stance on their former youth star.
City staying informed on Lavia situation

According to a recent report from 90 Min, City, as well as Manchester United and Newcastle United, are being kept informed on the situation surrounding Lavia, who has Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea pushing to sign him this summer.
Across his debut season at Southampton, the 19-year-old featured in 34 games for his current side across all competitions, starting 26 of the 29 Premier League matches he appeared in.
Back in April, Pep Guardiola revealed that although he has an “incredible opinion” of the midfielder and considered keeping him at the Etihad Stadium last summer, he didn’t think he would get the same sort of minutes at City as has done at Southampton.

With this recent report claiming that the Citizens are being kept up to date on the current situation concerning the teenager and a potential transfer move away from St. Mary’s this summer, this further highlights how highly they think of him.
Given the significant amount of interest in him from numerous Premier League clubs, it could be difficult for the Manchester club to convince their former youth star to make a return to the Etihad this summer, especially if they still wouldn’t be able to guarantee him regular minutes.
