Man City could sell their ‘fantastic’ player for a £37m loss this summer

Kyle Walker is expected to cost Bayern Munich only £13 million this summer.

That’s according to journalist Rob Dorsett, who revealed the defender’s price tag as the German giants remain in talks with Manchester City over Walker’s arrival.

Walker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, six years after Man City completed a £50 million deal for his signature.

The right-back has been sensational for the defending champions as they have claimed five Premier Leaguet titles, two FA Cups, four Carabao Cups and one Champions League trophy, with Pep Guardiola previously admitting that the player’s time with the club had been ‘fantastic’.

However, the Spaniard has now claimed Walker can no longer ‘do it’ in Man City’s new system that sees Walker forced into an inverted full-back role, leaving him limited to appearances from the bench on a number of occasions.

Walker has now expressed his desire to join Bayern Munich and the report claims that the two clubs will host face to face negotiations in Tokyo next week, with the Germans likely to cough up £13m after offering the England international a two-year deal with the option of a further year.

Walker’s minimal price tag would see Man City lose a whopping £37m on Walker after splashing out in 2017.

Bayern Munich are in for a bargain if they sign Kyle Walker

While Kyle Walker turned 33 years old in May, £13 million still seems very cheap for someone of such high quality.

The defender has been one of Man City’s strongest assets in recent years and would still be very capable of regularly playing under Pep if he hadn’t altered their system last season.

Walker is likely to go straight into Bayern’s starting line-up and pick up where he left off, while Thomas Tuchel’s side will be laughing at the absolute bargain they have snapped up this summer.
