Manchester City have reportedly set their asking price for Aymeric Laporte.
Since the Manchester club’s latest Premier League-winning campaign came to a close, the Spaniard has found himself being linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium, with Juventus being mentioned with a move for him.
Now, some fresh behind-the-scenes details have come to the fore regarding the Italian club’s interest in the 29-year-old and City’s current stance on the matter.
City set asking price for Laporte

According to Sky Sports Italia (via Tutto Juve), City are asking for €30m (£25.5m) for Laporte, although Juventus feel that this price is negotiable and that they can sign the defender for a lower fee.
City shelled out a then-club-record fee of £57m to bring the centre-back to the Etihad from Athletic Bilbao back in the 2018 January transfer window.
Since then, the Spain international has made 179 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side across all competitions, winning numerous trophies along the way.

Last season saw Laporte start just 11 of City’s 38 Premier League games, in addition to not starting the FA Cup final or Champions League final, which suggests that he has not been at the top of the pecking order.
This, therefore, backs up why the defender has been linked with a move away from the club this summer and why City have apparently set a price tag for someone to buy him for.
In our view, if the European champions feel they have set a suitable price for Laporte, they shouldn’t consider negotiating with Juventus for them to try and get him cheaper, because if they want him, they’ll have to pay what the Manchester club want.
