According to 90Min, Manchester City are plotting a move for Ajax youngster Kenneth Taylor ahead of the summer transfer window.

It’s claimed that City scouts have been watching Taylor, and have now made it clear that they are interested in striking a deal.

Major clubs from France, Germany, Italy and Spain are also keen, but it’s City who now appear to be leading the race.

Ajax don’t want to lose Taylor, and believe that he could be the new Frenkie de Jong in terms of becoming a first-team star in Amsterdam.

Taylor is more attack-minded and has racked up six goals as well as four assists in 23 games for Jong Ajax this season.

Taylor is just 18, so he would certainly be one for the future at City rather than an immediate addition to Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad.

He has already made his Ajax debut though, meaning he could come in when required, even if being farmed out on loan to one of City’s satellite clubs may be another avenue.

City missed out on De Jong in 2019, but they could now land Taylor before he hits the headlines like De Jong did, with the Blues looking to steal a march on their European rivals.
