Manchester City are reportedly not interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong during the current summer transfer window.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Pep Guardiola is considering making a move to sign the Dutchman, who Barcelona value at £90m, after missing out on sealing a deal for Declan Rice.
Now, some fresh information has come to light about the Manchester club’s current stance on the midfielder.
City not interested in De Jong transfer

According to a recent report from City Xtra, sources at the Etihad Stadium have told them that the club have no interest in signing De Jong this summer.
After making 89 senior appearances for Ajax where he scored five goals and delivered 13 assists, the 26-year-old joined Barcelona in the 2019 summer transfer window having secured a deal worth a reported fee of £65m for him in January 2019.
Since then, the Dutchman has made 183 appearances for his current side across all competitions, finding the net 15 times and supplying 21 assists.

Described as an “extraordinary” player by Xavi, De Jong ended the previous La Liga campaign as the third-highest player at Barcelona that appeared in more than two games, with WhoScored giving him an overall performance rating of 7.15/10.
Now that it has been claimed that the Citizens are not interested in pursuing a deal for the Barcelona star this summer, this could be a disappointment for some supporters given how impressive the player is, especially after missing out on Rice.
However, with Mateo Kovacic already through the door, he could be the one to reassure City fans that adding another midfielder to the squad this summer may not be particularly necessary.
