It has been reported that Manchester City do not intend to bring in a replacement for Chelsea-bound winger Cole Palmer.
This comes from Manchester Evening News journalist Simon Bajkowski, after Fabrizio Romano revealed on Wednesday that the 21-year-old was set to undergo a medical with the Blues on Thursday before his initial £40 million move is finalised.
As Cole Palmer could become a Chelsea player imminently, Manchester City do not intend to sign a replacement after his exit becomes official.
Journalist: Manchester City will not sign a replacement for Chelsea-bound Cole Palmer
Branded as an ‘exceptional talent’ by Joleon Lescott, the Englishman seemed destined to set the world alight for City this season.
Having scored big goals against Arsenal in the Community Shield and Sevilla in the Super Cup, it looked like Palmer was ready to become the long-term heir to Mahrez.
But now as Cole Palmer looks set to sign for Chelsea, it has been reported that Manchester City have no intention to replace him with a brand-new right-winger.

Instead, the club’s focus is believed to be only finalising a move for Wolves’ Matheus Nunes until the remaining two days of the transfer window.
Bernardo Silva is set to take the spot vacated by Cole Palmer
In all fairness, even if Cole Palmer had rejected a move to Chelsea, Bernardo Silva would have been called upon by Manchester City on a number of occasions to play on the right wing.
After all, in the biggest of games, the Portuguese international is at his very best and his blend of quick feet coupled with tireless off-the-ball work makes him a huge asset in that position against elite opposition.
But with Matheus Nunes potentially adding a fresh face to Manchester City’s midfield, perhaps Bernardo Silva will exclusively operate out wide, similarly to his breakout season during the 2018/2019 campaign.
Jeremy Doku is the other obvious contender to play in the role going forward.
