Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Achraf Hakimi this summer.

Since their treble-winning season came to an end, reports have emerged claiming that Joao Cancelo will be leaving the club this summer, in addition to reports linking Kyle Walker with a move to Bayern Munich.

This has now led to claims being made suggesting that the Citizens have identified a potential new right-back for them to sign in this window.

According to a recent report from Marca, City are interested in signing Hakimi this summer and would not be reluctant in terms of having to spend a significant amount of money to do so.

With the Manchester club also reportedly considering making a big-money move to sign Declan Rice this summer, their apparent interest in the Paris Saint-Germain defender suggests that they could be looking to spend a significant amount of money to refresh their squad this summer.

The Moroccan joined PSG on a five-year contract from Inter Milan back in 2021 for an initial fee of €60m (£51m).

Since then, the 24-year-old has made 80 appearances for the French club across all competitions, scoring nine goals and delivering 12 assists along the way.

The defender also showed his talent on the international stage during the previous World Cup in Qatar where he ended the tournament with his side finishing fourth and an individual overall performance rating of 7.04/10 from WhoScored, making him the highest-rated outfield player in the Morocco squad.

With all of that in mind, if City do end up seeing Cancelo and Walker leaving this summer, it would make sense for them to bring in a quality replacement such as Hakimi, who was hailed for his “stunning” efforts in Qatar by journalist Tyrone Marshall.
