Kyle Walker is considering leaving Manchester City this summer for a specific reason.
After winning the treble with Pep Guardiola’s side at the end of his sixth season with the club, the Englishman has found himself being linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
Now, some behind-the-scenes details have come to light regarding why the 33-year-old may be weighing up a potential move away from the Etihad Stadium.
Walker’s game time a big factor in decision on City future

According to a recent report from The Athletic, the long periods that Walker was out of the team for last season would be a factor in potentially seeing the full-back join Bayern this summer.
Last season saw the defender start 31 of the 39 games he appeared in across all competitions.
In terms of some of City’s biggest games of the season, while Walker completed the full 90 minutes in the two Champions League semi-final clashes against Real Madrid as well as in the FA Cup final, he wasn’t included in the starting XI for the Champions League final or their home matches against Liverpool in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
In fact, the player proved his worth against Real Madrid as his defensive performance coming up against Vinicius Junior earned him significant praise after the game at the Etihad by Thierry Henry.

This shows that while the right-back is useful figure for the team, he isn’t always going to be a certainty to start every game.
With that in mind, if this is going to be the same situation for him at City next season, it’s understandable why he may consider taking on a new challenge at Bayern if he’s likely to be a guaranteed starter.
In our view, we feel that the European champions should do all they can to convince the England international to stay where he is and help them continue winning trophies.
