Aymeric Laporte reportedly has two clubs looking to sign him from Manchester City this summer.
The defender recently ended his latest season with the Citizens having won his fifth Premier League, second FA Cup and first Champions League title.
With the season now over and the summer transfer window now open, the Spaniard has found himself on the radar of two big clubs.
Laporte attracting transfer interest
In a recent Twitter post, journalist Rudy Galetti said that Chelsea, who have had Laporte in their sights since March, are still interested in signing him.
Galetti, who described the situation concerning Laporte’s future as an “evolving” one, then added that Bayern Munich have now shown an interest in the defender.
City signed the 29-year-old back in the 2018 January transfer window from Athletic Bilbao in a deal worth a reported fee of £57m.
Since then, the centre-back has made 179 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions, chipping in with 12 goals along the way.
His latest season, however, saw Laporte start just 20 of the 24 games he appeared in, which suggests that he has not been at the top of the pecking order for Pep Guardiola.
This could be why he has started to attract interest from the likes of Chelsea and Bayern and why he could be open to moving away from City if he’d be guaranteed regular starts elsewhere.
Moving forward, if Guardiola would be willing to let the Spain international leave this summer, the club will have to make sure they pick up a decent fee for him and find a suitable replacement.
Having been linked with Josko Gvardiol recently, this could well be City’s idea of having someone to come in if Laporte does end up leaving.
