Manchester City could reportedly make a fresh move for Kingsley Coman in the summer.
According to a report from Bild, Pep Guardiola’s side may get involved for the France international once more, after being linked with the player last summer (Bild, July 2020).
It was claimed that City wanted Coman as part of the deal that saw Leroy Sane join Bayern Munich.
Coman has had a pretty good season so far in 2020/21, scoring six goals and laying on 11 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
But City aren’t the only side to be keen on Coman; Manchester United are also thought to be interested.
The Red Devils are reported to be on the tail of ex-City prospect Jadon Sancho, but it could be that they turn to Coman if they face more struggles over the England international.
Whether Bayern would be willing to entertain offers for Coman will remain to be seen – the 24-year-old still has over two years remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
City don’t need Coman unless someone goes
At the moment, the wide areas are very strong for Manchester City.
Sane may have departed, but in Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Bernando Silva, Phil Foden and Ferran Torres, Pep Guardiola has plenty of quality options.
The only reason a move for Coman – who remarkably has already won 20 trophies in his professional career – would make sense would be to replace someone who had been sold.
There have been no reports to suggest anyone’s unhappy, but things may change towards the end of the season.
