Report: Manchester City open talks over signing 'generational talent'

As per the latest information provided by Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail via Twitter, Manchester City have held initial conversations regarding the signing of Jude Bellingham.

Further details suggest that those that have an insight about the sought-after superstar’s future believe that he is set to join Pep Guardiola’s side.

It has also been mentioned that ever since the sale of Erling Haaland, the relationship between Borussia Dortmund and City has become ‘very strong.’

Notably, it has been stressed that in case the 19-year old has a belter of a tournament during the Qatar World Cup, his price tag may skyrocket to the point where he becomes virtually unaffordable for any potential suitor.

However, the report emphasises that the Englishman will not see out his current deal with Dortmund till 2025.

Considering Jude Bellingham is set to start for England alongside Declan Rice, it is likely that he could make a serious impression during the showpiece event.

As a result, City would be hoping that the valuation for the wonderkid is not out of bounds in the summer.

After all, the club may have to secure the Dortmund talisman’s services, with Bernardo Silva potentially bidding farewell to the Etihad Stadium next term.

For the past two summers, it has looked likely that the Portuguese international would join Barcelona, with Paris Saint-Germain also reportedly interested in his signature before the start of the season, as previously reported by Manchester Evening News.

However, the midfield maestro has ended up staying put at the club on both occasions and gone on to prove why he is one of the best players in his position in the world.

In case Bernardo Silva refuses to extend his current contract which expires in 2025, it is likely that Manchester City will accelerate their efforts to land Jude Bellingham.

With the report mentioning that both clubs have a positive business relationship, City will hope that they can sign the generational talent at the right fee.
