Report: Manchester City open talks to sign Gabriel Veron

Manchester City have reportedly opened talks with Palmeiras about a possible deal for talented youngster Gabriel Veron.

SPORT claim the Citizens are keen to raid the Brazilian club for the 18-year-old, four years after they prised Gabriel Jesus away from them.

Supposedly City – and also rivals Manchester United – are hopeful of thrashing out a deal for the teenager, with Barcelona keen as well.

Veron could cost somewhere in the region of £18 million, but Palmeiras would supposedly like around £27 million – which was what Jesus was sold for.

Versatile attacker Veron has really caught the eye in recent times, scoring six goals and making three assists in his last 22 matches.

That City have a strong Brazilian contingent of Ederson, Fernandinho and Jesus at the club already, as well as Portuguese speakers Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva may help to convince the player to move to the Etihad.

The star has superb pace and dribbling abilities, and Pep Guardiola could well mould him into a top player as he has done with countless players in his career.

Obviously the Jesus deal would suggest City and Palmeiras have a good relationship, and hopefully the Brazilian side would again be willing to sanction a transfer.
