Manchester City are being linked with a move for Joshua Kimmich, a player that manager Pep Guardiola worked with at Bayern Munich.
90min is reporting this morning that Manchester City want to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2024.
Manchester City want to sign Joshua Kimmich from Bayern Munich
The report claims that City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, tried to sign Kimmich in the summer of 2023.
But Bundesliga champions Bayern did not sell the midfielder.
However, Bayern could soften their stance in the summer of 2024.
90min has reported that Bayern could sell Kimmich, who can also play as a right-back, at the end of the season if he does not sign a new contract in the coming months.
The 28-year-old, who is able to operate as a centre-back as well, is under contract at Bayern until the summer of 2025.

90min has claimed that City are “interested” in Kimmich and could make a bid for the £298,000-a-week (SalarySport) star in the summer of 2024.
The report has added that City “rate him as one of the best midfielders in world football, while his positional versatility and ability to play in defence makes him an even more attractive option”.
City manager Pep Guardiola worked with Kimmich at Bayern.
In 2016, Guardiola told Bayern’s official website about the Germany international when he was just 21: “I like to work with players who are eager to learn.
“He’s got the desire, the will, the passion. He’s got absolutely everything.”
My View: Joshua Kimmich would be a brilliant signing for Manchester City
In my opinion, Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich would be a superb signing for Manchester City in the summer of 2024.
Kimmich is at the top of his game now.
He is 28.
The Germany international has progressed a lot over the years.
I believe that Kimmich would be able to make an immediate impact at City and would make Pep Guardiola’s side better.
Kimmich’s ability to play in defence and in midfield will give Guardiola a very valuable option.
The Germany international has given three assists in seven Bundesliga matches and has provided one assist in two UEFA Champions League games for Bayern this season.
Last season, Kimmich scored five goals and gave six assists in 32 Bundesliga starts for Bayern.
