A claim has been made that an unnamed top club tried to complete a transfer for Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for a fee of £15 million a while ago.
This comes from TV2, a day after Pep Guardiola branded the 20-year-old’s showing in his side’s 5-3 victory against Yokohama F.Marinos as ‘unbelievable.’
However, it seems like elite clubs have always been aware of how talented Manchester City youngster Oscar Bobb has always been, as he has already generated transfer interest in his relatively short career.

The 20-year-old, branded as ‘technically gifted’ by the Sky Blues’ official website is one of, if not their most talented young prospect.
While Pep Guardiola is known to give youngsters chances, he tends to pick and choose which ones to field and the Norwegian’s involvement in pre-season is a sign of how highly regarded his quality is by the decorated manager.
It seems like Manchester City as a whole realise how much of a special talent Oscar Bobb is, rejecting an approach from a mystery club in a potential transfer proposal believed to be worth £15 million.
While City, like most clubs would have been happy to part ways with a number of other such talents for the same fee, they seemingly realise that the versatile attacker is one of one.
Bobb could become a starter at the Etihad Stadium one day
While it is clear to see that Manchester City have no interest in sanctioning a transfer for Oscar Bobb anytime soon, it is not far-fetched to tip him to become a starter at the club in the near future.
In fact, Bobb is perhaps a more well-rounded replacement for the outgoing Mahrez than even Palmer.
While the Englishman’s profile is much closer to that of the Algerian winger’s, the diminutive midfielder’s natural ‘pausa’ traits and impressive ball-retention habits make him a better fit in City’s current system.
As long as Oscar Bobb continues to develop under Pep Guardiola, it is feasible to see him starting week in, week out at the Etihad Stadium, be that on the wing or in midfield.
