It has been reported that Bayern Munich have not progressed one bit in their pursuit to sign Manchester City defender Kyle Walker in the past week.
This comes from BILD, as the £50 million (Sky Sports) man’s future continues to be uncertain heading into the 2023/2024 season.
For now, it seems like Bayern Munich are struggling to get a deal over the line for Kyle Walker from Manchester City.
No movement in Kyle Walker to Bayern Munich transfer in past week
Branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Jamie Redknapp, it did seem at one point that the 33-year-old was nailed-on to join Thomas Tuchel’s side.
In fact, even Pep Guardiola admitted that it is likely that the German giants will end up signing the treble-winner.
But now, it has been claimed that ‘there’s simply been no movement’ in a deal involving Kyle Walker signing for Bayern.

The primary reason why this has been the case is due to the fact that City’s priority still remains to keep the decorated right-back at their disposal and persuade him to extend his contract.
While the negotiations have not advanced at all, it has been revealed that the Bundesliga champions may have face-to-face talks with the Sky Blues, as they intend to with Tottenham in a bid to sign Harry Kane.
Keeping Kyle Walker is ideal for the Sky Blues
From a Manchester City perspective, one can fully understand why they intend to keep Kyle Walker at all costs, as his potential move to Bayern would be a blow for the club.
While the likes of Rico Lewis, John Stones and Manuel Akanji can largely deputise in his absence for a majority of the games, his mastery of 1v1 situations and incomparable recovery pace will be missed against elite teams and those that thrive in transition.
Not a single player in world football is quite as adept at defending in wide areas, keeping world-class wingers quiet and marrying such traits by being a rare physical specimen like the Englishman, which would mean his departure could especially hurt City in Europe.
