Sheffield United are planning fresh talks with Manchester City over another potential transfer deal for Tommy Doyle.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the Yorkshire club had met with Txiki Begiristain to discuss the possibility of them striking new deals for Doyle and James McAtee, who spent last season on loan at Bramall Lane.
Now though, some new behind-the-scenes details have emerged on the situation.
Sheffield United planning more talks over Doyle deal

According to a recent report from The Star, United are planning to hold further talks with City over a potential deal for Doyle, who the Citizens are apparently willing to let leave the club this summer, either on loan or permanently.
In addition to having 86 appearances to his name for City’s youth sides, across which he has scored 13 goals and delivered 21 assists, the midfielder has made seven senior appearances for the Manchester club.
During his loan spell with the Blades last season, the 21-year-old started 25 of the 38 games he featured in across all competitions, finding the net four times and supplying seven assists as the Yorkshire club made their way back into the Premier League.

Across his 33 Championship appearances last season, the Englishman ended the campaign with the third-highest number of progressive passes made (117) in the United squad as well as having the joint-third-highest average of key passes per 90 minutes (1.1).
This shows what he was able to offer the team and why they are apparently keen on securing another deal for him and seeing if he can do a job for them in the top-flight next time around.
In our view, if City don’t plan on having Doyle in their squad for next season, we feel it would be useful for them to sanction another loan deal for the midfielder to the Blades so he can get a taste of what it’s like to play in the Premier League on a regular basis.
