According to The Mirror, Pep Guardiola’s relationship with Mino Raiola won’t stop Manchester City from pursuing a huge deal for Erling Haaland.

The Borussia Dortmund striker is one of the most in-demand players in world football, and City hope to pull off a deal.

City could push for a £100million deal for Haaland this summer, given that his release clause is only active in the summer of 2022.

There have been concerns that Haaland’s agent could prove a stumbling block, given that he is represented by super-agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola has a fractious relationship with City boss Guardiola due to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s spell at Barcelona in the 2009-10 season.

However, City won’t let that issue stand in the way of signing Haaland, seemingly believing that he is the ideal successor to Sergio Aguero.

The Argentinian is out of contract this summer, and could leave after 10 years at the Etihad Stadium, with a top goalscorer needed to replace him.

Haaland could be that player, and a move to the Etihad Stadium could be a somewhat emotional pull for the striker given that his father Alf Inge also played for City.

Many other clubs will fancy Haaland, but City seemingly hope to convince Raiola to send the striker to play for Guardiola rather than anywhere else.
