Report shares when the verdict about Manchester City’s 115 charges could be reached

In February, Manchester City were charged by the Premier League for allegedly breaching 115 financial regulations, spanning a period of nine years between 2009 to 2018.

However, ever since then, there have been question marks from fans and pundits alike about why an official verdict is yet to be reached.

This subject is even more prescient now considering the fact that Everton were charged with breaking financial rules in March and less than two weeks ago, they were handed a 10-point deduction by the Premier League for their breaches, subject to appeal.

When the verdict about the 115 financial charges levelled against Manchester City could be made official

It has been reported by the Daily Mail that late autumn of 2024 has been agreed upon as the time when Manchester City and the Premier League are set to discuss this matter at a hearing.

In addition, the hearing is scheduled to take place in front of an independent panel.

The report states that those who are knowledgeable about the situation believe that a final verdict could be reached around the summer of 2025, so this won’t be a quick process.

However, in the case of any potential delays, such proceedings could take even more time to get over the line.

Further details claim that if either Manchester City or the Premier League are dissatisfied with the eventual verdict regarding the alleged 115 financial breaches, it is likely that either party would launch an appeal.

If such proves to be the case, the entire process could end up being even more time-consuming.

While City may look to appeal if sanctioned, one avenue that won’t be explored this time around is to take this case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). CAS, of course, overturned City’s Champions League ban back in 2020 after hearing an appeal.

City’s 115 charges are still hanging over the Etihad like a dark cloud, and it may still be two years until we get an answer on what punishment, if any, the European champions will face.
